In today’s Q&A session Mary asks me about making the switch to smaller brushes when I’m working on painting.

When do I switch to small brushes? How do I use them?

And do I keep separate brushes for different colors?

With the quick drying time of something like acrylic paint, it’s wise to have a system set up for using and cleaning your brushes so you can make the most of your palette full of paint.

Today I share my studio setup, which talks about water, towels, when to use what size brushes, and how I decide which brushes to use.

What are your best practices tips for when to work with big or smaller brushes? How do they inform the style of your art?
